To enter
Prepare and submit a business plan for the fictional town of Greenville. Greenville, a rural Atlantic Canada community of less than 10,000 people, is competing for the title of Most Environmentally-Friendly Community in the World.

The business plan must
• explain how Greenville could achieve this goal with a maximum budget of $10 million;
• include individual, household, business and municipal initiatives;
• explain what town planners can do to win broad-based community support for their ideas;
• incorporate a public relations and marketing component; and,
• identify how this project will be financially self-supporting over the long term.

Prizes
Winning entries will be announced in the March edition of Atlantic Business Magazine and posted in full online at atlanticbusinessmagazine.ca. Cash prizes will also be awarded. The winning entry at the junior high level will receive $1,500 for the school and $500 for the student(s) who prepared the plan. The winning entry at the senior high level will receive $3,000 for the school and $1,000 for the student(s) who prepared the plan. The winning entry at the college/university level will receive $8,500 for the school and $1,500 for the student(s) who prepared the plan.

Eligible entrants
Junior high, senior high, college/ university students currently attending school in Atlantic Canada during 2011.

Deadline for submissions is Monday, December 12, 2011.
